Your Doctor is Watching You

It's amazing and very encouraging on the number of technology advances that are being made in the health care-medical industry everyday. Especially, when those technologies are directly associated with humans because that makes it even better! Pretty soon people with pacemakers won't need to visit their doctors to give them an update on how their pacemakers are performing because your doctor will be able to remotely check-in. The Latitude system is a new type of defibrillator that monitors a variety of stats, such as weight, blood pressure and heart rate. Also, doctors can remotely request and obtain data without requiring a face-to-face appointment. Not to be a kill-joy about this, but one can only suspect that there will be privacy issues associated with gathering such personal info. And obviously this info will be encrypted. Let's hope that these avenues have been addressed.
